New Civil War Death Toll

Antietam Aftermath

New research has come out raising the casualty estimates for the US Civil war from about 625,000 to around 750,000.  It seems that there were even more victims of America's bloodiest war than once assumed.    Here is the full story...http://www.nytimes.com/2012/04/03/science/civil-war-toll-up-by-20-percent-in-new-estimate.html?pagewanted=all

The bottom line is that this was a bloody and brutal conflict.  Even today over 150 years later we are still struggling to come to grips with the full dimensions of the tragedy that was the US Civil War.
